Can I use my George Foreman Grill for this?

Hi! I will start by admitting I am not the world’s best cook!! Ha! Okay, I would like to know if I can cook a frozen chicken burger on a George Foreman Grill? Or any frozen burger for that matter? I imagine with a hamburger, I could tell it’s cooked by slicing inside to see if it’s still red. But for a chicken burger, how will I tell when it is cooked? In the oven, it’s 16-20 mins, but is it faster on a grill? I have cooked regular chicken on it, and that is more obvious, cause you can still cut it and look inside, but the burgers are already white inside, right from the freezer. Help! Thanks!

1. Check the internal temperature. The recommended temp is 180F.
2. Check the package. If it’s already pre-cooked, all you should have to do is heat it through thoroughly. Once again, 180F is the recommended temperature.
3. Cut into it, and check what colour the juices are when they come out. If they run clear, it’s cooked.
4. Cut into it, and look at the colour of the meat. If it’s completely white (no pink or translucency) it should be done.

Realistically, the only sure method you have is temp checking, as the meat is already white, which leads me to believe that the product is precooked.

If the item is breaded, I wouldn’t recommend cooking it on the foreman grill, unless it has a temperature control. Chances are that the breading will either stick and become separated from the breast, or it will burn. If you have a temp control, cook on low. It should cook a bit faster on the grill, as you have heat coming from both sides. Just keep your eyes on it, and keep the temperature low.
