What in the world is the VERY best cheese for a grilled ham and cheese sandwich?

Get a good crusty bread, some thin sliced aged gruyere (swiss), and thin sliced smoked ham. Use real butter, not margarine cuz margarine makes the bread soggy and tastes like crap anyways. really good!
