Can you use a “normal” pot on a charcoal grille?
The boys and I are going to be doing a little tailgating this weekend, but I want to put a pot on the grille to make some queso before we enjoy the steaks. I know cast iron is safe for the grille, but can you put a “normal” pot onto the grille?
Should not be a problem. However if your pot has wooden or “plastic” type handles watch your grill temp. Do not let it get above 350 or so.
I find it easier to clean the pot or pan of soot if you coat the outside of the pan with a bit of dish soap first. But a spray of oven cleaner will take off any soot or burned on spills. Just spray the pot and leave it on the grill when it is cooling down to allow the cleaner to work best.
