Why won’t motels let you bring your own ice machine?

I find this rather insulting. I have a commercial sized ice maker that would be able to fit in my hotel room. All I would need is for them to take the hinges off the door and for them to help me carry it up the stairs. I was planning on paying for five nights and I like making my own ice but the girl on the phone said no. I usually don’t stay in motels but I need to go for job interviews out of state. I’m just so peeved.

Who cares about the ice? You can get all the free ice you want from a hotel. What I want to know is why they won’t let you setup a propane grill on their balcony. I mean we could save a ton of money by cooking in our rooms.
