Cooking a turkey in a convection microwave?

Has anyone tried cooking a Thanksgiving turkey in the microwave, using your convection setting? I want to clear up my oven for other side dishes, so I wanted to know if using the convection function for the turkey would work. Any tips?

I wouldn’t risk it. The last thing you want is a lame looking turkey as the centerpiece of your fine Thanksgiving dinner.

I actually use my gas grill as an oven on days where I need extra oven space. I wouldn’t cook the turkey on the gas grill, but the side dishes should be fine. The trick is to cover the grill grates to eliminate the direct heat. I line the grill bottom with bricks (yes bricks). It completely removes the direct heat factor and turns the grill into an oven. Put the temp on high to heat things up nicely and drop it down to medium. On my grill, medium will give me a temp of about 350f-375f.
