cooking turkey in roaster ?

I would like to cook my turkey this year in a roaster,I was looking for a convection roaster but can’t find them locally and it is to late to order them on line. So my question is if I cook it (12 pound turkey stuffed),will it turn out ok? will it brown on the top or will I have to pop it in the oven the last 15 minutes or so. Has anyone ever cooked one before in a roaster? how did it turn out?
I am of course talking about an electric roaster

Mine are always done in the portable (??) electric roaster.

DO NOT stuff before the final 45 minutes of cooking!!

Put the rack in the roaster, put the bird in on its back with wings folded behind and ends of legs tied. Bird should be salted,

I line the pan with aluminum foil for easier clean up.

Ok, now cook the bird to within the final 45 minutes, remove him and dump the juices into the dressing and stuff the bird and put him back into the roaster. finish cooking him and put the rest of the dressing in a baking dish in the oven same temp.

I do all meats in the Roaster! Beef, Hams, Leg of Lamb lots of things. All the same method as above with the exception of potatoes instead of dressing.
