Herb grilled chicken – what’s good for sides?

We have a friend coming over for football & food. I’ve got some chicken breasts marinating in a garlic/herb mixture & gonna cook those on the charcoal grill.
What are some good sides to go with? It’s too cold for traditional bbq sides & I want something different than mashed potatoes & peas. Any suggestions?

Using what you already have on hand, why not try this:

Without peeling the potatoes, cut in wedges and place in big bowl. Thinly slice the onion, toss in bowl with potatoes. Mince or press the garlic, toss in bowl, too. Drizzle with olive oil and season with salt and pepper, toss. Break off a fairly large piece of aluminum foil, place potato mixture in middle, seal very good to keep from running out. While coals are burning, place potato mixture in oven for about 15 – 20 minutes at 350 degrees, then put on the grill and cook chicken alongside. Glazed carrots, green beans and corn can also be prepared, and sliced tomatoes will round out the meal with wonderful color.

Just a suggestion. Sounds really good to me, though!
