Do Sharp Microwave-Convection ovens use only a metal carousel dish?

I was just given a Sharp microwave-convection oven model R9H84B. It came with a metal tray for the carousel. I have never used metal in a microwave and Sharp no longer supports this model. I don’t want to ruin it first time out.

Ok are you sure it metal and just not painted to look that way? Metal is not supposed to go in the microwave so I wouldnt risk it at all.
