Can you help with this dilemma of the wedding?
My boyfriend and I are looking for a loft / type rather than taking our receipt of the basement the wedding. We are strong in music and art and typical banquet hall or something too expensive or simply do not. We want freedom for ourselves decorate our cooking supply and music. I searched and searched and find nothing that fits this. My hypothesis is that there are, but because it presents boaty not need more publicity. Anyone has driven the Minneapolis / St. Paul?
First, I admire you for taking the time to try a place that fits you and your interests rather spinning madly typical wedding sites. I suggest contacting galleries, art shops, cafes, houses, games, nature centers, music venues or sports facilities (smaller) to see if they will consider renting to you. Or even look at old warehouses or gaps in your city. I know someone who married in your office building this year! Just go around and look for areas that intrigues you, and you can imagine your wedding / reception is in. If the place is is usually reserved for events, we know that you probably have to put in everything, including tables and chairs. Also be sure to check the space to carry alcohol the bus, if you drink at your wedding, it could be a deal breaker if they say no alcohol! I also looked around various types of sites. At first, the idea a senior community center or hall or sounded so boring for me. But then I realized that these are places that include tables and chairs and generally rent from $ 150 and $ 450 all day! And you get to decorate, bring your own food, alcohol, etc. Some were really beautiful, overlooking the river or in nature. I could not believe that people rent a boring hotel when some of these low-cost options exist. I also looked at the floor closed / "shelters" (actually just a regular room / cabin) in the parks. Some of these places so beautiful and very cheap. Unfortunately, about 50% of them alcohol. Other full very quickly. Basically, stay away from the hotel and every restaurant if you want to DIY. And do not be afraid to call places and say: "I can pay rent the space for my wedding? "Even if I never imagined that the event before. You never know whether to say yes!
